Panaji: Trinamool Congress (TMC) made its second flagship poll on Sunday promising a Yuva Shakti credit card for young people, which offers an unsecured loan of up to Rs 20 lakh at an interest rate of 4%.
The program will only be implemented if the TMC-MGP coalition, known as “Navya Goeank Navi Yuti”, forms the government.
“The program is universal, therefore accessible to anyone between the ages of 18 and 45,” said Yatish Naik, member of TMC. “With the government as guarantor, this program is a tool that will allow young people to stand up. ”
Naik said the unemployment situation in the state is very grim in the absence of any initiative from the current government.
Goa ranks among the top states with high unemployment. A single window credit facility at 4% interest will allow young people to raise funds for purposes such as pursuing higher education, skills development or vocational training or investing in business expansion , did he declare.
“Under Navya Goeank Navi Yuti, the Government of Goa will implement this program which will help all young people in need of funds. The government will take it upon itself to provide the security guarantees required for this credit facility and to partner with a financial institution for the same, ”said MGP MP Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar.
Curtorim’s former congressman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco vouched for the feasibility of the program and called on young people to register.
Meanwhile, the TMC began to strengthen its presence in the constituencies of Velim and Cuncolim. The party opened an office in Chinchinim where panches John Beda Pereira, Doura Fernandes and Reina Dias joined TMC.
In Cuncolim, former municipal president Shashank Desai joined TMC with 400 supporters. Desai was also the former temple committee secretary and former counselor and is also the former close associate of Joaquim Alemao.
