The Beulah Academy of Science Middle School is currently building a sports hall with a loan of US $ 2.85 million.

The 17,000 square foot capacity will allow students to have access to indoor health and wellness activities during extreme heat and inclement weather conditions and will also add three additional classrooms for agricultural sciences, culinary arts and engineering courses.

While construction of the gymnasium is already underway, the loan from the Beulah Academy of Science was one of five rural community infrastructure projects in Florida announced by the USDA on Friday.

“The projects announced today are all aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Florida communities,” said Jason Brower, acting director of state of the USDA. “Through its grant and loan programs, USDA is investing in rural Florida to help provide essential services to our residents.”

USDA invests in projects through the Direct Community Facility Loans and Grants program. The aid will fund essential community services that will help maintain rural America’s resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
